Note: The number of vacancies is tentative and PSPCL reserves the right to increase, decrease, or cancel any posts at any stage without notice. Reservation of posts for Women candidates will be governed by Punjab Civil Services (Reservation for Women) Rules 2020. Eligibility Criteria — PSPCL JE Electrical Recruitment 2026
⇒ Educational Qualification (Any one of the following):
- Full-time Regular 3/4-year Diploma in Electrical / Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a State/Central Govt. recognized institute with a minimum of 60% marks.
- OR B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. Engineering in Electrical / Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks.
- OR AMIE in Electrical / Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks from the Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta.
⇒ Punjabi Language Knowledge:
- Candidates must have passed Punjabi at Matriculation level or its equivalent up to the last date of online registration / submission of application.
⇒ Important Qualification Notes:
- The required qualification must be obtained on or before the last date of online application submission (10 May 2026).
- Candidates whose results are awaited may apply but must acquire the qualification before the last date. Write ‘RESULT AWAITED’ in the Year of Passing column.
- If the certificate is yet to be issued, the date of result declaration will be considered as the date of qualification completion — with supporting proof.
Online Written Test (CBT) Exam Pattern
The Online Computer-Based Test will consist of 100 Objective Type (MCQ) questions with a total duration of 2 hours (120 minutes). The subject-wise breakup is as follows:

- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks (1/4th) deducted for every wrong answer.
- Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
- In case the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized to neutralize difficulty variation between shifts.
- After the exam, the question paper and answer key will be published on www.pspcl.in. Candidates can file objections as per the guidelines issued at that time.

Tie-Breaking Rule
If two or more candidates score identical marks in the online exam, their relative merit will be determined by age — the older candidate will be ranked higher.
Salary / Pay Scale & Probation Details
⇒ Basic / Minimum Pay: ₹35,400/- per month
⇒ Probation Period: 3 Years (or as per Punjab Government instructions from time to time)
⇒ Pay During Probation:
- Only the ‘minimum admissible pay’ will be paid during the probation period as per Dept. of Finance (FP1 Branch) letter No. 7/42/2020-5FP1/741-746 dated 17.07.2020.
- No Grade Pay, Dearness Allowance, Annual Increment, or any other allowance will be paid during probation — except Travelling Allowance (TA) and Medical Reimbursement as per entitlement.
- For candidates already serving in PSPCL, their existing pay will be protected if their current pay exceeds the minimum admissible pay — however, no increment or allowance (except TA and medical) will be given during probation.
⇒ Training: Selected candidates may be sent for training at the Technical Training Institute (TTI), PSPCL, Patiala or any other institute in India.
⇒ Panel Validity: The selection panel will be valid for 1 year from the date of approval by the competent authority.
