Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES), operating under the Department of Technical Education, Haryana, has officially released the Diploma Prospectus 2026 for admissions to all Diploma Courses for the academic session 2026-27. This prospectus covers three programmes — Diploma in Engineering (3 Years), Diploma in Engineering Lateral Entry (2 Years), and Diploma in Pharmacy (2 Years) — available across 246 polytechnic institutions in the state.

This is an outstanding opportunity for students who have passed their 10th or 12th board examinations and are looking to build a career in technical and allied fields. Admissions will be conducted through two rounds of Online Off-Campus Counsellings based on merit of the qualifying examination. 📌 A. Diploma in Engineering (3 Years)
⇒ Minimum Qualification: Passed Class 10th / SSC Examination from any recognized Board.
⇒ Basis of Admission: Inter-se-Merit / Rank based on percentage of aggregate marks in Matriculation (10th Std) examination.
⇒ Tie-Breaking Criteria (in order):

  1. Higher marks in Mathematics in Matriculation
  2. Higher marks in Science in Matriculation
  3. Higher marks in English in Matriculation
  4. Elder Date of Birth (older candidate preferred)
  5. Alphabetical order by candidate’s name (as per Matriculation)
  6. Alphabetical order by father’s name
  7. Alphabetical order by mother’s name

📌 B. Diploma in Engineering — Lateral Entry (2 Years)
⇒ Option 1: Passed 10+2 with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / IT / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship (compatibility as per prospectus table).
⇒ Option 2: Passed 10th + 2-Year ITI Certificate in a relevant trade (eligible for any branch of Diploma Engg. as per compatibility).
⇒ Option 3: Candidates who have completed a 3-Year Diploma in any branch are eligible for admission into 2nd Year of a different branch through lateral entry.
⇒ Basis of Admission: Inter-se-Merit / Rank based on percentage of aggregate marks in qualifying examination.

📌 C. Diploma in Pharmacy (2 Years — Annual Course)
⇒ Minimum Qualification: Passed 10+2 (PCM / PCB — Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics) from Board of School Education, Haryana or a recognized Board/University.
⇒ Qualifying Examinations accepted:

  • Intermediate (Science) / Pre-degree examination
  • First year of 3-year B.Sc. degree
  • Regular 10+2 in Science (academic stream) from any recognized board
  • 12-year Higher Secondary Board Exam in Science from Nepal (PCB)
  • Any other qualification recognized as equivalent by the Pharmacy Council of India

📌 Physical Standards (All Courses)
All admitted candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate (Annexure-XIV of prospectus) signed by a registered Government Medical Practitioner with MBBS degree at the time of joining the institute. Physical fitness standards are prescribed in Annexure-XIVA.

  1. Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID) — Mandatory for all Haryana Resident candidates. All personal details (name, DOB, category, income etc.) will be auto-fetched and will be non-editable.
  2. DMC / Mark Sheet of Qualifying Examination (10th / 12th / ITI as applicable) — Upload in PDF format.
  3. Sub-category / Special Category certificates (if applicable):
    • ESM / Freedom Fighters certificate
    • Physically Handicapped (PH) certificate
    • Kashmiri Migrants (KM) certificate from Relief Commissioner

Note: Haryana Resident candidates whose details are fetched via PPP ID do not need to separately upload income, DOB, or category certificates. Only sub-category and special category documents need to be uploaded. Non-Haryana candidates must upload all documents manually.

  1. System-generated provisional seat allotment letter (printed from website)
  2. Original + 2 sets of self-attested copies of all educational certificates and mark sheets
  3. PPP ID along with registered mobile number (for OTP verification at institute)

  6. Medical Fitness Certificate duly signed by a Govt./Registered MBBS Doctor (Annexure-XIV)

How to Apply — Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Update PPP ID (For Haryana Residents)
Before applying, ensure your Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID) is updated, correct, and verified on the PPP portal (https://meraparivar.haryana.gov.in). All personal details like name, DOB, category, and income will be auto-fetched from PPP and will be non-editable.

Step 2: Keep Documents Ready
Scan your photograph (JPG, Max 30KB) and signature (JPG, Max 20KB) and keep PDF copies of all qualifying examination DMCs and category certificates ready.

Step 3: Visit the Official Portal
Go to www.techadmissionshry.gov.in and click on the Online Registration link for your course (Diploma Engg. / Lateral Entry / Pharmacy).

Step 4: Online Registration
Register on the portal by entering your PPP ID (for Haryana residents) or by manually entering your personal details. Note down your Unique Application Number and Password carefully.

Step 5: Fill the Application Form
Enter your personal details, educational qualifications, and choose the course and special categories (HGST / KM / MAR / SDB / TFW / EWS) as applicable.

Q1. What is the last date to apply for Haryana Polytechnic Diploma Admission 2026-27?

Q8. How are ties broken in the merit list?
⇒ For Diploma Engineering, ties are resolved in order: marks in Maths → Science → English → Date of Birth (elder preferred) → Alphabetical order by candidate’s name → Father’s name → Mother’s name (all as per the Matriculation certificate).

Q9. Is there any tuition fee for girls admitted in Government Polytechnics?
⇒ No. Girls admitted in Government and Government Aided Polytechnics of Haryana are not charged any tuition fees.

Q10. Can I change my branch after admission?
⇒ No. Internal branch change (sliding) is not permitted during or after the admission process. If a candidate wants to change their branch, they must participate in subsequent rounds of online counselling (if available) before the final cut-off date.

⇒ As per AICTE guidelines, if a student withdraws before the course starts, the full fee minus a processing charge of not more than ₹1000 will be refunded. The last date for fee refund is 31 July 2026 (subject to change by AICTE). Fee refund must be completed within 7 days by the institute.
