⇒ Disqualification Rules:

  • Males who fail to complete the 1-mile run within 6 minutes will be disqualified
  • Females who fail to complete 1 km within 5 minutes will be disqualified
  • Males throwing the shot put less than 16 feet will be disqualified
  • Females throwing the shot put less than 12 feet will be disqualified
  • Males failing to clear at least 4 feet in High Jump will be disqualified
  • Females failing to clear at least 3 feet in High Jump will be disqualified

⇒ Maximum Attempts: Only 3 attempts each are allowed for Shot Put and High Jump.
⇒ Important: Candidates who complete the run within the time limit but fail to meet the minimum standard in Shot Put or High Jump will be disqualified from all remaining events. Each event must be qualified independently.
⇒ Pregnant Women: Married female candidates found pregnant during medical examination at PET stage will not be permitted to participate in the physical test and will be declared disqualified. Such candidates must also submit a declaration of non-pregnancy.


Merit List & Final Selection

⇒ Final Merit: Prepared solely on the basis of total marks obtained in all three PET events (Running + Shot Put + High Jump = 100 marks)
⇒ Tie-Breaking Rule (in order):

  1. Candidate with older date of birth (elder in age) is placed higher
  2. If date of birth is also the same — candidate with higher educational qualification is placed higher
  3. If educational qualification is also the same — candidate with higher marks in Intermediate/equivalent exam is placed higher
  4. If still tied — candidate whose name appears earlier in English alphabetical order (as per Class 10 certificate) is placed higher

⇒ Recommendation: The final select list will be forwarded by BPSSC to the Commandant, Bihar Home Guard and Fire Service, Bihar, Patna for appointment.
⇒ Pre-Appointment Verification: Medical examination, character verification, and antecedent verification of all selected candidates will be carried out by the appointing authority before formal appointment.
