Eligibility Criteria — BOB Sportsperson Recruitment 2026

⇒ Nationality: Only Indian Citizens are eligible for appointment.

⇒ Educational Qualification:

  • A Degree in any discipline from a recognized University, or an equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • Educational qualifications must be from a college/institution/university recognized by the Government of India / Govt. bodies / AICTE.
  • Where CGPA/OGPA is awarded, candidates must convert it into percentage as per university norms and indicate the same in the application form.
  • Note on rounding: 59.99% is treated as less than 60% and 54.99% as less than 55%. No rounding up is permitted.

⇒ Sports Qualification (Any ONE of the following):

  • Represented a State / UT / the country in National or International Competition
  • Medal winner in Junior National Championships
  • Medal winner in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, Khelo India Para Games, or Khelo India University Games
  • Medal winner in School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in the relevant sport
  • OR — Represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments conducted by Inter-University Sports Boards
  • OR — Represented the State / UT School Team in National Sports/games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation

Selection Process — Detailed Overview

Stage 1 — Application Screening
All submitted applications are screened against the specified eligibility criteria. Only shortlisted candidates are called for Field Trials. Meeting minimum eligibility does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for Field Trials. The Bank’s shortlisting criteria are internal and confidential.

Stage 2 — Field Trials
Shortlisted candidates are called to a designated venue for Field Trials to assess their actual sporting ability. The evaluation parameters and qualifying cut-off for Field Trials are determined solely at the Bank’s discretion. No request for change of Field Trial venue, date, or time will be entertained.

Stage 3 — Document Verification
Original documents along with self-attested photocopies must be produced at the time of Field Trials. Failure to produce required documents will result in disqualification.

Stage 4 — Final Selection
Final selection is based on the overall assessment of eligibility, sports performance, and other factors as determined by the Bank. The Bank’s decision at all stages is final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained from non-selected candidates.

Other Conditions: Selected candidates must be Active Sportspersons at the time of joining and must be physically fit to participate in tournaments. They will be required to play for the Bank’s team whenever and wherever necessary, and must give a written undertaking to this effect at the time of appointment.
