Important: Candidates applying for a particular state must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in at least one of the designated local languages of that state. Allotment of training districts will be based on the Bank’s administrative requirements, not candidate preferences alone.
Eligibility Criteria — Union Bank of India Apprentice Recruitment 2026
⇒ Educational Qualification:
- A Graduate degree in any discipline from a university/college/institute recognized by Government bodies, AICTE, or UGC.
- The result must have been declared on or before 01 April 2026.
- The date of passing graduation must not be more than 4 years before the cut-off date (i.e., graduation marksheet must not be dated prior to 01 April 2022).
⇒ Percentage Calculation:
- Percentage is calculated by dividing total marks obtained across all semesters/years by aggregate maximum marks across all subjects.
- Fractions will be ignored — e.g., 59.99% will be treated as 60%.
⇒ Prior Apprenticeship Restrictions:
- Candidates who have previously undergone apprenticeship with Union Bank of India or any other organization are NOT eligible.
- Candidates who have job experience of one year or more after completing their educational qualification are NOT eligible.
- Candidates previously terminated from apprenticeship training due to their own fault are NOT eligible.
⇒ Language Proficiency:
- Must be proficient in at least one local language of the applied state (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
- Proof via 10th/12th marksheet showing study of the local language, or a language proficiency test, will be required.

Proficiency Test in Local Language
Candidates who are unable to produce 10th or 12th marksheets showing study of the opted local language will be required to appear in a separate local language proficiency test. Clearing this test is mandatory for final selection.
Final Selection Criteria
- Meeting the cut-off marks as decided by the Bank in the online exam
- Satisfactory document verification (DOB, category, educational qualification)
- Submission of local language proficiency certificate or passing of the language test
- Submission of a medical fitness certificate from a registered General Physician
