MCL invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for two posts — Assistant Foreman (Electrical) (Trainee), T&S Gr-C (E&M) and Technician (Electrician) (Trainee), Cat-III (E&M). Eligibility Criteria — MCL Recruitment 2026
⇒ Post 1 — Asst. Foreman (Electrical) (Trainee), T&S Gr-C (E&M):
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering (minimum 3-year course) approved by AICTE, OR
- Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering approved by AICTE
⇒ Post 2 — Technician (Electrician) (Trainee), Cat-III (E&M):
- (i) Matriculate or equivalent examination passed from any recognised Board of Examination
- (ii) ITI (2-year course) in Electrician Trade along with Trade Certificate issued by NCVT / SCVT, AND minimum 1-year training / on-the-job practical experience
- (iii) LT permit under IE rules for Mines OR 440–550 Volts mining parts permit issued by Competent Authority
⇒ General Notes:
- All qualifications must have been obtained on or before the cut-off date of 28 May 2026
- Candidates serving in other subsidiaries of Coal India in the same capacity are not entitled to apply — they should pursue inter-subsidiary transfer

Career Growth Prospects
⇒ For Technician (Electrician) (E&M): Trainees in Cat-III will be regularised as Electrician, Cat-IV after successful completion of one year training in E&M cadre and possession of valid minimum requisite Electrician Statutory permit / certificate.
⇒ Posting: Selected candidates could be posted in any Mines / Projects (Underground & Opencast) of MCL / CIL and are liable to be transferred to other subsidiaries of Coal India Limited at any time during their service period.

Health / Medical Fitness Standards
⇒ Final Joining: Subject to being declared medically fit for employment in Mines as per the applicable rules.
⇒ Minimum Height: As per Medical Attendance Rules (MAR), the minimum required height is 60 inches, except for candidates with Dw (Dwarfism) applying for Asst. Foreman (Electrical) (Trainee) post.
