Reservation Policy — Category-wise Percentage
Vertical reservation for Bihar state categories is applicable as follows:

Eligibility Criteria — Patna High Court Technical Assistant 2026
- B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Applications), OR
- I.T.I. in a trade related to Computer Science & Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication, OR
- Diploma from a Polytechnic in Computer Science & Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication
- Minimum relevant work experience of 01 year
⇒ Important Notes on Qualification:
- The ITI trade or Diploma course must strictly conform to the disciplines specified above. Any deviation may result in rejection of candidature.
- Candidates must ensure their experience aligns with the subjects/topics specified in Annexure-II (Syllabus).
- The High Court reserves the right to assess and determine the relevance of qualifications and experience claimed.
⇒ Character: Candidates terminated/dismissed from government service or convicted of serious offences are ineligible.
⇒ Marital Status: A male candidate with more than one living wife, or a female candidate married to a person already having a living wife, is not eligible.
⇒ Physical Fitness: Candidates must be in good mental and physical health. A medical fitness certificate from a Medical Officer (not below Deputy Superintendent rank in a Government Hospital) is required at the time of joining.
⇒ Locomotor Disabled: Minimum 40% relevant disability required to claim reservation benefits under this quota. No provision for scribe or extra time in any stage of examination.
Preferential Qualification
- Candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years
- Candidates who have obtained the ‘B’ Certificate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC)

⇒ Shortlisting Ratios:
- After Preliminary Test: Top 10× of total vacancies called for Written Test
- After Written Test: Top 6× of total vacancies called for Trade/Skill Test

⇒ Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of a tie in total marks, preference is given first to candidates with High Court work experience (no extra marks), then by higher Written Test marks, and finally by older age (date of birth).
⇒ Final Merit: Prepared on the basis of Written Test + Trade/Skill Test + Interview marks combined (out of 330).
⇒ Note: Marks obtained in the Preliminary Test are NOT counted in the final merit list.
