Eligibility Criteria — SBI Trade Finance Officer 2026

⇒ Nationality: Indian Citizens Only

⇒ Educational Qualification (As on 30.04.2026):

  • Mandatory: Graduate degree (any discipline) from a Government-recognized University or Institution AND Certification in Forex Operations from IIBF (Certificate must be dated on or before 30.04.2026)
  • Preferred (Additional): Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) / Certificate in Trade Finance / Certificate in International Banking (Certificate must be dated on or before 30.04.2026)

⇒ Post-Qualification Work Experience (As on 30.04.2026):

  • Mandatory: Minimum 2 years of post-graduation experience in Trade Finance processing in a Supervisory or Official role in any Scheduled Commercial Bank
  • Teaching and Training experience will NOT be counted towards eligibility

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and processing skills

  1. Scrutiny of all trade finance documents (Letters of Credit, Collections, Bank Guarantees, etc.) for compliance with Bank/RBI/ICC/FEDAI guidelines
  2. Guiding and supporting junior staff at CPC and front office at branches
  3. Processing of Trade Finance and Forex transactions centrally on behalf of all branches within benchmarked Turnaround Time (TAT)
  4. Reconciliation of Trade Finance and Forex related entries in Bank’s systems (Trade Finance, Forex, CBS, IDPMS/EDPMS)
  5. Any other tasks related to the Bank’s Trade Finance and International Business back-office operations
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
  1. Accurate and efficient processing of all allotted Trade Finance / Forex transactions within benchmarked TAT
  2. Tracking and ensuring periodic activities — maturities, payments, customer follow-up, reconciliation
  3. Timely reconciliation of all related accounts and systems per Bank’s norms
  4. Close coordination with all stakeholders to maintain agreed customer TAT
  5. Strict adherence to all regulatory / Bank / ICC / FEDAI guidelines

Selection Process — Detailed Overview

Stage 1: Shortlisting

  • Merely fulfilling minimum qualification and experience does not guarantee a call for interview.
  • The Bank’s shortlisting committee will decide parameters and shortlist an adequate number of candidates.
  • Shortlisting will be done based on academic qualifications, certifications, experience, and suitability.
  • The Bank’s decision on shortlisting is final and no correspondence will be entertained.

Stage 2: Interview

  • Interview carries 100 marks.
  • The qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.
  • Interview venue/centre will be decided by the Bank — candidates must attend as instructed.
  • Call letters will be sent by email only — no hard copy will be dispatched.

Stage 3: Merit List & Final Selection

  • The merit list will be prepared in descending order of interview scores.
  • In case of a tie at cut-off marks, candidates will be ranked by age in descending order.
  • Final appointment is subject to medical fitness, background verification, and document verification.

Travel Reimbursement for Interview

  • Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed economy class airfare for the shortest route, up to a maximum of ₹10,000/- (to-and-fro), or actual cost, whichever is lower.

⇒ Candidates who have defaulted on repayment with any Bank/NBFC/Financial Institution (including credit card dues) and have not fully cleared the outstanding before the date of offer of appointment will not be eligible for appointment. Candidates with adverse CIBIL reports must either update their CIBIL status or produce a No Dues Certificate from the lender before the date of joining.
